Zebra Finches can stare you down with the utmost intensity as they watch you carefully. Are they just checking out the oddity of me, a human, or are they getting ready to defend their own? Whichever it is, it is an intensity that demands respect and I am grateful for the lesson in giving my all to the task at hand.
