Most of this painting was completed en plein air and then finished in the studio later. Being hidden from the sun by the hills that surround Whangaroa Inlet on Lake Rotoma meant more time to complete it before the light changed too much.

A highlight for me was the old 60’s stool at the wheel. Had me wondering how many hours fishing and family trips out on the lake this boat had seen. So many memories must have been made on her.
